Find Unread Mail in Gmail

Gmail is known to offer good storage space to archive #emails; space that most of us use to archive some messages that may come in handy sometime in the #future. To make these 'useful' messages stand out between the others we can mark them as unread.

The problem is that as time goes by these #messages will be somewhat lost in a sea of new messages that we receive every day, and as all messages are presented by default in chronological order, we may end up with forgotten unread messages under a huge pile of read ones.

It is not uncommon to see the Gmail app of friends and #family showing a high number of unread messages in the top right hand corner.

What can we do about it?

Scrolling down hundreds of read messages just to find the unread ones is time consuming. Fortunately 'Unread' is an attribute that acts like a label in Gmail.

To view all (and only) unread messages type: "is:unread" (without the quotation marks) in the Gmail search field and click the #search button or press Enter.

If you want to find all unread messages sent to you by a specific email address type: "is:unread" to easily find all the unread messages sent to you by "".

This is a simple solution that will surely help you to better manage your Gmail account.
