You may be feeling down knowing that the summer will be over soon, but there’s plenty to do this August that will help perk you up. If #opera is something that always brings a smile to your face, then you’re in for a treat as the Shanghai Opera House comes to the #London Coliseum with their show Thunderstorm. Minghzhe Zha directs this award winning modern opera about family, society and corruption in Old Shanghai. It is based on the acclaimed 1935 play by Cao Yu and is set to music by the legendary composer Mo Fan. The story unfolds in the space of one day and centres around the disastrous effects of rigid traditionalism and hypocrisy in the Zhou family. This opera will be performed from the 11th to the 14th of August. How often do you visit the opera?
