What’s on this Month

It’s March and we have officially waved goodbye to the winter and we welcome in the spring. To help shake off your winter blues, and to ease yourself into some spring activities, you can visit the #V&A museum for their new exhibition. Botticelli Reimagined is the largest Botticelli exhibition in Britain since 1930, and examines his appeal to #artists from the Pre-Raphaelites to modern times. On display will be over 50 original works by Botticelli and by other artists such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones, William Morris, Rene Magritte, Elsa Schiaparelli, Andy Warhol and Cindy Sherman. The #exhibition is divided into three major sections which highlight the artist’s imagery and versatile #skills. It will be showing at the V&A from the 5th of March to 3rd of July.

If you’re a fan of #musicals then Miss Atomic Bomb is the new show that may tickle your fancy. The musical will be showing at St James Theatre from the 7th of March to the 9th of April. It is written by Adam Long, Gabriel Vick and Alex Jackson-Long and is set in 1952 Las Vegas. The story is inspired by real life nuclear tests and beauty pageants of that era, an interesting mix of topics for sure! Characters of the musical include Candy whose sheep have mysteriously died, Joey who has deserted the army and #fashionista Myma who is designing clothes for pigs. With such an intriguing plot and characters, this musical will be pulling in the crowds for a long time.

If you fancy letting loose this month and maybe getting #healthier in the process, then why not join the Where’s Wally? Fun Run. It has been organised by the National Literacy Trust and all the money raised helps disadvantaged children to read and write. It takes place at Clapham Common on the 20th of March and you can walk, jog or run the 10km route. Runners are asked to raise £100 or more in sponsorship and there’s a £25 registration fee which includes an official Wally costume. There is also a 1K route for under 12s, so children and parents can enjoy this fun activity together.
