Address - Luxury Cruise Ship!
When an 86-year-old widow decides to live her retirement differently and social media finds out, there are some extraordinary comments ranging from the applause to what can only be considered outright jealousy!
However, Lee Wachtstetter, or 'Mama Lee' as she's known on board, shouldn't care about what other people think, and I hope she isn't even aware of the #Internet's remarks.
She often cruised with her husband during their 50-year marriage, and the day before her husband died of cancer, he told her "Don't stop cruising!"
'Mama Lee' did just that and decided to sell her 5-bedroom #Florida home to live permanently on a cruise ship. The 1070 passenger Crystal Serenity ship (voted Condé Nast Traveller magazine reader's choice for 20 years straight) is definitely an #excellent choice!
"I've been to almost every country that has a port and stopped counting after 100 countries; I rarely get off the boat anymore but when we are at #Istanbul I can't resist the Grand Bazaar! You can find gorgeously regal or #glitzy outfits there, perfect for formal or casual wear and not terribly expensive. I have to restrain myself every time because of my limited cabin space!"
'Mama Lee' also likes to do needlepoint gifts for the ship's crew that are "almost like family now. If they don't have what I want, they get it. Even if they have to buy it off the ship, or make it to my specific needs."
She misses her three sons and seven grandchildren, but "they have their own families and do what's right for them". She keeps in touch with them via computer or personally when the ship docks in Miami.
The steep £110,000 yearly price tag is not a retirement decision possible for everyone. But 'Mama Lee' seems to be a lovely lady and I hope she can continue her #cruising for years to come!
