What’s on this Month
June is the official first month of #summer, but unfortunately I can’t promise you on going great weather, but I can promise you lots of #activities taking place in #London that will keep you very entertained. #Festival of #Love returns to the #Southbank Centre and celebrates love in all its guises, from 6th June to 31st August. There will be themed performances, poetry, workshops, street art, BMX-ing and musical entertainment. The festival also includes the Big #Wedding Weekend over the August #Bank Holiday weekend when 100 couples are invited to marry in mass ceremonies in the #Royal Festival Hall, so don’t forget to wear your fancy attire to be a spectator at such an unique event.
Known as ‘The Happiest 5k on the Planet’, The Color Run takes place at #Wembley Park for a third year in a row. The run is less about speed and more about fun, the event sees runners/walkers/dancers begin the event in clean t-shirts, but after being doused in a different coloured paint at each kilometre, crossing the finish line completely covered in a vivid rainbow. This event takes place on Sunday 7th of June and people of all ages can participate.
From 20th to 28th June, #legendary #flamenco #guitarist, composer, dramatist and producer #Paco Pena will be hosting his new show Flamencura at #Sadler’s Wells theatre. In pursuit of ‘duende’, the alchemy between interpreter and audience at the core of flamenco, the Spanish guitar virtuoso, six #musicians and three dancers portray a musical journey through the history of flamenco in all its variations in dance, song and guitar. If you make a booking for any of the Sunday performances, then you can have a chance to learn the steps at free pre-show flamenco classes.
West End Live showcases the best of London’s headline theatre shows for two days of fun al fresco entertainment. It takes place at Trafalgar Square on Saturday 20th June from 11am-6pm and Sunday 21st June from 12pm-6pm. The event features live performances by casts of top West End shows like #Billy Elliot, #Jersey Boys and #Matilda The Musical, and is a glorious piece of summer #fun showcasing the amazing variety on the capital’s #West End stage.
